24 mile mountain bike ride
Rhodes Canyon is a 24 mile bike ride around Rhodes Canyon on White Sands Missile Range. The ride takes place in a restricted part of the Range. The ride will take you to multiple points of interest and historical markers throughout including: Hardin Ranch, Bennett/Potter Ranch, and Potsy Potter Ranch. Hamburger lunch will be provided at the finish of the ride. The ride is not timed.
Access to Rhodes Canyon: All participants will meet @ 7:30am at the Small Missile Range Gate off Hwy 70 (approx. Mile "174"). After everyone arrives they will be escorted to Rhodes Canyon which is approx. 60 Miles to starting area. When finished all participants will be escorted back to Hwy 70. Please ensure you have enough fuel in your vehicle for 120 mile round trip. There are NO facilities up range.
Please Note: To be granted access to White Sands Missile Range you must have your current driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Please have it ready when you approach the gate so you can be issued vehicle pass. Your vehicle will also be subject to search.
