WildCat Classic Mountain Bike Race

Hot Springs, SD

40 miles of mountain biking in the pristine Southern Black Hills of South Dakota.  You will be amazed at the solitude, scenery, ideal riding terrain and hospitality. Three distances are offered, 40 mile classic, 28 mile quickie and a 7 mile kiddy/beginner.  The WILDCAT hugs the west and southern boundaries of Wind Cave National Park.

Riders can expect. 22.5 miles of SINGLETRACK, plus 9 miles of singletrack equipped with passing lanes... "Hillbilly Highways". Gravel grinders will appreciate the 6.0 miles of gravel travel.  2.5 miles total paved getting in and out of town, but it is a great way to separate the field before hitting 4.5 miles of singletrack.  Canyon bottoms and rims, meadows, ridge tops, downhills, and gradual climbs create the course. Prepare for a very fun, ride-able and sustainable course with beautiful scenery and access to isolated places not accessible by motor vehicles.  It should be a pretty fast 40 miles for some.

The strategy for the long course; mile 22 is the high point at 4930 feet, Hot Springs is at 3500 feet. Total elevation gain/loss is 5,300 feet. Short course has 12.5 miles from first and last aid station as part of the lollipop.

Bring the whole family.  The race starts and ends in Hot Springs.  Activities are planned for spouses and kids that do not ride, there is even swimming in our warm waters in the park at the start/finish.  Check us out and "Take a Ride on the Wild Side".

RIDE ON!
